I'm (again) looking to change mics. So far I've used the following mics: CSB, HEB (DPA4061), Shure MX185 and Microphone Madness MM-HLSC-2. I'm looking for small stealthable cardioid mics for under $800 a pair, roughly. I haven't yet had any AT mics, but I really don't want to, everyone seems to use those, not a very rational reason, but I'm like that ;)
Anyway, I came across the Sennheiser ME 104 cardioid mics. PDF sheet: http://www.sennheiser.com/sennheiser/icm_eng.nsf/resources/ME_102_104_105_Sys_GB.pdf/$File/ME_102_104_105_Sys_GB.pdf . Anyone know anything about these mics?
Any other suggestions apart from AT mics?

i've looked at them too, but dont know what they sound like, so I cant offer much.
the dpas are VERY hard to beat for a stealth mic.

Yes I liked the DPA's as well, but they're omnis and I got tired of the intrusive clapping and shouting in my recordings...

hey Joost ook hier?.
Wasn't Audix comming with some new stealthable mics? are they out yet?
-
yes..
the audix 1245 (very short, interchangable caps). but its 40hz bottom sort of sucks.
then there is the 1290, which is a little bigger(still ver small) and goes down to 30hz.
I've owned the latter, and ran a hyper card cap on it. worked like a charm. Better sounding than the at853, imo.
great choice for stealthing I would guess. As long as you dont mind not having a full range mic.
