ok, i just got my custom spsb-7 box in the mail today and i was trying it out before i head out to tape col bruce tonight. i noticed something that i thought was unusual and i was wondering if anyone else has this issue with sp's boxes.
oh, first of all the mod is changing the input from 1/8" to dual TA3M (mini xlr male) for my at853's. it still goes out to a 1/8" TRS.
since there are 2 inputs, i figure that there should be a right and a left. i was trying to determine which one was which so i plug just one mic in to one of the mini xlr's and then plug the stereo mini into the jb3. i was reading levels on both channels. WTF?!?! one mic, both channels, that doesnt sound right does it? i got the box with roll off and there are 2 sets of dips inside the box, but it seems that would be moot if the box is homoginizing the channels.
and for reference... when i was using the at85331's that came with the mics and outputing it to a rca>mini i was able to have channel seperation, so i dont think it is 1/8" male, cause since its TRS, there should be a hot for each mic.
anyone else have this with sound pro's boxes... argh... i am super pissed... whos got my heady ps-2!

bueller?? ???
anyone have anything to say about thier sp battery box blending channels? bailed on col bruce tonight... the weather was not cooperating with an outdoor show. so i have until sat's blueground undergrass gig to figure this out. will probably call chris over at sp tomorrow to ask him about it, but i was hoping to get some feedback from others before than.

double check that your 1/8" mini is seating tightly in the jb3 input. jb3 has a known issue due to small bit of the plastic not allowing a 1/8" mini to fit in all the way.
if that's the culprit, then you can easily remedy that with an exacto knife. directions are somewhere in the Archives, i believe.

the plug appeared nice and snug. the monster cable rca>1/8" has a much bigger head on it and has no issues. i will play with it a bit tonight though. thanks.
anyone else?

marc, your sage-like wisdom has helped overcome yet another n00b move on my part. i dont know what it was but i just focused on the plug and *poof* it magically healed itself. +t
