Title: AT853 vs. Sonic Studios? Opinions?
Post by: §†∑∫åµÞ≥¥ on May 01, 2005, 02:11:16 PM
SSIA. I like my AT's a bunch... switchable caps, etc. but am curious about the Sonic Studios. Any comparisons?

edit: does SS only make omni's? If so, I'm not interested.

INCREDIBLE sounding Omnis however.

Never used them, but I have some DSM6 dat tapes that rival DPA tapes.
Also some that rival soundboards.
One of my fav microphones!!!!

Yes, those SS DSM's are very very good mics, for their price and size, etc.

Oh I agree. He just said "no omni's" so I didn't get into that.

Personally, I hate non-omni microphones. Half the time the recordings with those mics sound like they have the center cut out. Very annoying.

Thanks for the replies.... I'll stick with my AT's for now. They have interchangable caps so I can run card, omni, or hyper.
