Title: can someone explain the diffrence between balenced rcas and unbalenced rcas?

I have a stereo phoenix gold a56oxs cable that i use to use for my subwoofer in the car. it says that it is "true balenced", what exactly does that mean? not thinking that it would be an issue i have been using it to patch an SBD feed to my ua5 and now im using it to connect my computer to my amp. It works but should i be concerned? is this a bad thing?

I have no idea what they're trying to advertise, but since an RCA only has two conductors, it cannot be a balanced cable. I doubt you're causing any problems.

I was worried that it was the actual culprit of to board being fried at harpers a year and a half back.

I think "true balanced" has more to do with matched impedance of the 2 conductors of the rca cable.
