Below are two tracks recorded from an Oasis gig.
One with the rig below, and one with a digital camera Sony p150 (it takes reasonable quality video too).
Can you tell the difference? Which one sounds better?

Second question , anyone have any good tutorials on mastering? In particular compression?
Thanks

well, I HOPE that the second one listed is from the SP-CMC-8 -> SPSB-3 - > JB3 setup....the first one has some major clipping going on....sound fuzzy and distant...
the second one picked up more of the "room" sound and sounds better overall...and Im guessing that the wav(vs the mp3) sounds even better...
did you get video of the whole show?

I will keep the result till later ;D
I didnt get the video of the whole show, only live forever, but maybe a few more coming.
I was impressed with the quality of the video and sound from a digital camera though!

So the better one is indeed from the digi cam, isn“t it?

The 2nd one is from my rig.
I just think the 1st one sounds more lively although it does have its issues.
Its quite acceptable though, dont you think? I had a cheap pair of mics when i first started, and the bass would have tore them apart.
