Title: DPA406* Windscreens
Post by: Wiesel on May 19, 2005, 04:39:48 AM: I'm going to record some outdoor shows and need some good windscreens for my 4061's. I've already ordered the dpa ones (DUA0560), but I read that they are nearly useless!?

Are there any recommendable alternatives?

Post by: Wiesel on May 19, 2005, 11:51:21 AM: I forgot to mention, I'm going to stealth. Those furry balls would be a little bit conspicuous ;)

I just received the dpa screens and tested them... wind is still audible, but it's noise is lowered by about a half. I only tested it with quiet sounds, but I think the results should be better the louder the recorded sound is.

Are there any people (stealth)taping outdoors with the 406*'s? What are you doing against wind?

How do you wear the mics IN your hair? Headband?
