hey.. what do you guys do to get yer rig in when the venue wands you? Do you just pull the crip card? Anybody have some tips??? My rig is At853C's> Ps-2>Jb3.. thanks alot

never stealthed fwiw, but takes lots of items with metal.
and place it in the areas you will be placing your gear.
Big metal buckle on the belt etc.

That's the ticket. And be very slow taking stuff out, and very stupid about what the problem is. The more of their time you waste, the more impatient they'll get, and the more inclined they'll be to wave you in...

Stealth just like normal. I've had success at some venues that use wands, but I still get nervous when the wand passes over my pants.

Just dont sweat it the stuff I have brought in is amazing wear a Belt buckle a fanny pack..Dont dress like a hoodlum it gets like second nature..

If the wander is only wanding over your midsection down to your crotch, there's alot of places you can put the metal gear where the wand doesn't pass over it. And the JB3's not a recorder, it's your mp3 player.

Just crotch your gear and wear a studded belt with a big belt buckle. The wands are either way too sensitive or not sensitive enough. I've never had anything but my belt set off the wands and that only happened one time. I think you really need to have a big metal weapon to set those things off, and when they do get set off they just beep once and the person will ask you what it is. Show em your big belt buckle and they'll send you on through. Keep your cool and they really don't suspect a thing. You gotta remember that their job is to get thousands of people through the doors in a very timely fashion since most places are not letting folks in an hour before the gig starts. Unless they feel you pose a serious threat your not going to be hassled.
Wear 2 pair of skivvies and put everything between there, the jb3 in front of your manhood flat side on top, the rest by the twins. So get out there and do it, you'll be very glad you did!

Alot of venues check purses around here. No carryins or bags allowed usually.

They most definitely check purses and bags here in Los Angeles.

i was wanded last night at the HOB orlando and i had no issue getting my gear in.
i was wearing a long sleave t-shirt hoodie (it had a front tunnel pocket) under a button down s/s shirt.
i had the jb3 in the hoodie pocket. i was wired with the mics already in the croakies, the rest of the 25' of cable in a crown bag crotched. i had my battery box in a small pouch clipped to my pants.
i had to open the pouch for him, but he didnt ask what it was (not that i would have said anything). i didnt set off the wand... it was actually easier to go in then last wednesday when i taped the crowes there.
i had to fish out the mini xlr ends and plug everything up once inside... that was the sketchiest part... bathroom attendants freak me out...

+t for taping at the HOB in Orlando...and having the balls to go thru the line already wired up!! I never attempted that before. Always just went in the bathroom and did it in there.
That was by far my fav venue to tape at when I lived in Orlando. I always stood on the steps on the left side of the stage pretty much right next to the stack. I cant wait to see a show there again...its been ages since Ive been there.
Who did you tape last night? Any chance you're going to catch the Seether or Better Than Ezra shows there coming up soon?

If you're forced to stealth right in the front of the stacks the sound can't be that hot ;) (unless of course you're one of those crazy stack humpers who likes to feel the bass in their pants)
