I have an AD20, and would like to be able to take an analog feed from the board and convert to digital. The problem is, generally, the board feeds are too hot to run through the AD20.
Is there something *little* and preferable cheap that will do the A>D or does anyone else do this with the AD20 somehow?

You could buy attenuators, though it'd likely be easiest to just go SBD>whatever deck you're using...

not selling the AD20 ; ) I use it with my AUD setup. It is a great little toy for the price.

yea, I'm using a jb3, and I would just rather go digi-in than let it do the job. The 1/8 inch in scares me - and doesn't seem to be a tight fit.
And I keep hearing about these attenuators, but I've yet to see one in the field or for sale.
I would love just a little hand held deal with a balanced volume knob so I could dial the feed down. This seems like it would be such a simple thing, but I haven't found a clean solution yet.

Paul - check the Archive's Pre/ADC/Processors forum for a thread on line transformers and attenuators. A couple different models listed. And if you're a DIY kinda guy, DKlein posted some info on building your own - search around.

You're describing a sony sbm-1, out of production, but frequently available used.

i ran analog in w/ a 1/8" on that jb3 flawlessly.

I got a pair of attenuator cables (that are also RCA > XLR adaptors for use with the AD-20) when I got my AD-20 4 years ago from Core Sounds. They shouldn't be hard to find.

IMO the jb3 a>d is about as good as the ad20s a>d to begin with so...
