Post by: OFOTD on June 06, 2005, 05:13:37 PM
Searched and searched and couldn't find any mention of this so I thought i'd post it.

Threeo links, the first one is babelfished since it is from the japanese website.

I don't know if this is feasible for what we do but it certainly is one more notch in the new wave of recording devices coming out.  The reviews talk up the mp3 and wma recording but on a google search I found talk abeit translated that referred to PCM recording.  Unit appears to need 5v of power.

Thoughts?

Found this last week.  Saw that it has direct encoding to MP3.  Gave up.  I didn't see anything mentioned about PCM encoding.  Other than the Mp3 thing it looks pretty cool.  Digital I/O,  Analog I/O, DC powered, nice sized box, USB host, etc.  I think I remember reading something like ~$440.

Gotta get them to allow for direct encoding to .wav and it'd be a cool box.  Almost there, but not quite.

I saw the $440 as well.  I definately saw PCM mentioned but now the google rankings have changed so i'll have to look again.  This also appears to be a product geared at a different audience but possibly well worth a taper's time (ala JB3)
