can you record simultaneously from the ua-5 via both the optical and the coax outputs??
or do you have to choose between the 2??
thanks

It's digital or analog in, not both at the same time. So you could not mix mics and a digital feed for a matrix.

I'm pretty sure that both the coax and optical outputs are active at the same time.

there is a switch on the back to choose either optical or coax. so i believe you can only use one or the other, but I have never tried to run coax so I could be wrong

Check the Archive | Pres/ADCs/Processors forum's UA5 FAQ.

This is correct, or rather, ALL the outputs work all at once. The Coax and Optical output what the USB would normally output - part of the digimod... The analog outputs work, but make sure to dial output volume to max. Make sure Monitor light is OFF, or you are looping the analog signal through and gettig an echo.

This only applies input.

Yes, I run a D8 (coax) and a JB3 (optical) out of a UA5 all the time.
