Ok so I am wondering if there is anything I should or should not do when someone has already seeded a show you would also like to seed on bt.etree.org.
If you post the same show after someone does that mean you think it is a better recording. What are the general guidelines to this and things of the like, and general opinions of this. I don't want to piss anyone off.
I have some shows left from Bonnaroo that other people have already seeded another version, but would like to seed them and am wondering if there is any benefit to doing this or what.
Thanks,
Joe

i see nothing wrong with it..in fact...i enjoy being able to pick which one i think sounds better. seed away!

Only rule I can think of is don't seed an incomplete/flawed show if other complete/perfect sources are in circulation. But even then if you make that clear nobody has grounds to bitch.

I'm kind of stuck with that sitch. I made a really good recording of the Mountain Jam Festival. Unfortunately, I needed 2 source patches. 2 small ones for 3 minutes each. The patches are almost flawless and hardly noticeable. But I hate to release them and get clobbered by anal leechers. Call it a predicament if you will.

First 3 minutes of the Jim Weider Band. I was getting beverages when he hit the stage about 10-12 minutes after Xavier Rudd finished. I was walking back when they hit the stage. Caught me off guard.
First 4 minutes of Mule's 2nd set. JB3 locked up when advancing the recording cycle. I looked in the bag to check on things and saw it was hung up.
RobC let me use his source to patch the holes. Came out quite nice. Seamless. The transition between the 2 sources is hardly notcieable or obtrusive.

seed them 414 bad boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'll rage on some silly leechers if you need me to! >:D ;D

I'll put it on DIME over the weekend. Should I put the whole rack on 1 torrent? Or the break the bands up into separate torrents? Just a thought, because I doubt all the flacs would fill even a DVD, which are shared on DIME.

On second thought, I'll seed them one at a time. I'll just include links in the torrent threads for those who want the complete show.

Thanks fellas! I guess I am just being a pussy. I don't care if the leechers have an issue. I just don't want any other tapers to think I am an asshole who thinks all his tapes are better than the ones that are already out.
For example after reading a few of these responses I decided to seed my J5 from bonnnaroo. I don't think it is in anyway better than the other source, I just think it sounds a little different and would like people to check it out and decide for themselves.
Peace,
Joe

I have multiple sources of some shows. Doesn't necessarily mean one is "better" than the other(s). Some mics are brighter, some recordings may have more "punch," etc.
I'd say seed it if you want. If they don't like it & wanna complain, they can go out & make their own sources.
That pissy lack of gratitude is why I prefer the old fashioned vine or trading instead of BT (that & my dial-up connection ;) ).

seed away, list source info. I like to compare sources, especially if it is a show I taped. I generally don't even look to see if a show has been seeded previously. If i need a source patch I always shoot the other taper(s) a note to make sure it is cool.
