Title: Is it possible... (M1 content/question)
Post by: Nick Graham on June 24, 2005, 02:01:22 PM
to run analog "line in" on a Sony portable DAT, and give a digi out?

I tried this a few nights ago and got a "no input" error on the deck. If I set the 7 pin cable to "Analog" would it work? Any ideas?

I sold my modSBM1 because I prefer the sound of the M1's A/D with the Schoeps, but I'd still like to be able to hook up patchers when needed...

Nick:

This is Precisely the situation in which the 7pin should be set to "analog" -- it should then pass the analog input to the M1 to its digital out.

That's what I figured. Thanks for clarifying...  +T

Are you saying the RK-DA10 cable is a digi out (signal going 7pin > coax) cable when it is switched to 'analog' and the deck it is comming out from is doing A>D?  This is new to me.  I thought the cable was for input only (signal going coax > 7pin).
