Title: Are Audio Technica's good mics?

If so, what kind is most preferred?  Any good sites to buy them from?  thanks

Please search this site (search button at top of home page) for useful posts - I would suggest using the "name" of the mics you want to use in the search, or are interested in - they have ALL been discussed here.  Soundprofessionals.com sells an adapted type of AT mic, you can also buy them from AT.

Yes!!!  Get the AT853 model, with removeable caps.  Search on "AT853".

get the 4050's.  switchable multipattern LD.

januszak runs 4041's & they make a nice tape for the price point.
however they are a fixed cap card.

I second that. Those bitches made  smokings tape a couple weeks ago, both in bad rooms.

I have a at-825 stereo mic. It makes some nice tapes. Its really easy to deal with and hang from a ceiling in a bar
