Hi. i posted this on another forum tonight and was pointed here for more answers...
i'm looking to tape a show in August (NIN)...i have an opportunity right now to purchase a MINT condition Sony MZ-N710 Minidisc player/recorder which comes with one of these mics:
plus 10 blank md's for AUD$125 (about USD$95)
This is just for taping a momento for myself and my trading buddies. not looking for or expecting top notch quality... 3 questions
1. Is it a good deal?
2. Would the sound be any good? I know my acoustics pretty well and my seats are KILLER
3. Is there software available that will allow me to USB the atrac files straight to my harddrive from the MZ-N710 for converting/uploading, as the Sony software that comes with it (or maybe all Sony software that works with it in fact) won't allow it?
Thanks for any help. i'm not really a digital audio bootleg nut, im more a dvd/vhs collector so any shows i audio tape for my own use i usually just do on my Panasonic RQ- L11 mini cassette recorder (beautiful warm sound!) but this time i'll be buying a cheapish MD, either this one or another...
Any advice would be great. thanks.
