i'm getting the following when trying to burn shows on my new notebook:
"Nero has detected that the following audio properties are not supported by your recorder in the current write mode and need to modified: CD specification allows only 2-3 seconds pause for the first track."
i've tried to proceed through this but it the track gaps are still there even though i select each track and change the pause to "0" and click the radio box to elimanate pauses.
anyone seen this?

First track needs the gap, disk should burn fine. I use nero express to burn audio disks to avoid this invonvenience

i ONLY use nero express w/ great success!

This is how I burn a show with NERO:
1. Drag all the tracks from their folder to the left window.
2. Select all the tracks (CTRL-A)
3. Right click and choose Properties...
4. Change the gap to 0 and click okay.
5. Click the burn icon
6. When the "Nero has detected that the following audio properties are not supported by your recorder in the current write mode and need to modified: CD specification allows only 2-3 seconds pause for the first track." message appears I just click OK and let Nero do it's thing (it will put the 2 second gap in before the first track for you).
If that's what you're doing, then I don't know whats wrong. Good luck!

Never had any problems after well over a thousand discs. Are you also setting it to burn DAO (Disk-at-Once)? If you leave it at Track-at-Once (TAO---the default), it'll insert the gaps regardless of what you've entered on the previous screen.
As far as the 1st track goes, I just click "OK" & burn it. It inserts a gap BEFORE the first track, so you'll never even notice it.
Good luck. I've personally found this to be one of the best CD burning programs, particularly in a features vs. ease-of-use comparison.

i'm pretty sure i've been doing it as FR has suggested as well as selecting DAO. i'll try it again tonight.
thanks all.

i think it's compatability b/w Nero6 and my lappy burner. the first track is fine, but it starts to countdown for the 2nd track and doesn't let me skip track to track.
might have to get some new software.

here's a problem I just came across and it's only an issue w/the disc 2 of the claypool
show,it will analyze the 1 st seven tracks and when it gets to the last it stops and a
window pops up saying the program failed or the user aborted the file or something
to that effect ??? what's going on?
edit: and the disc is only 50 minutes long and was just transfered from dat.

nero has been crapping out on me a lot lately. i dont' know if its nero or my burner tho. i've only had the burner for a little over a year...i guess i might as well get a new one tho, since they're only like $50 anyway.
-
IMO, nero is rock solid, usually the burner is the culprit

yep, thats what i've noticed too. i think my burner may be on its way out. i'd be pissed if i paid more than $60 for this burner tho.
