Great thank you!!!
How does it stack up next to a V2/V3?
well, thye m148 is transformer based, so its gonna be a touch 'warmer' and 'punchier' than the v2/3
the 148 has nice punch/warmth, and the v2/3 and more clean and detailed
the 148>v3 is where its at tho! 8)

no doubt, what you absolutely want to do is to run two preamps back to back, into a shaky a/d. And in particular, you want to be sure to run the m148 into a preamp that's gonna whack it's nuts right off...the v3 fits that bill for sure. ::) ;)
i would run the mytek ad after the m148

shaky a/d.
huh? Shaky? Close to 50 shows taped in this camp, and not a
single problem. Whatchutalkin bout, Maker's?

Not shaky as in unreliable, shaky as in Marc doesn't care for it. Marc has a loooooong history of bashing the V3.

because of the gain controls on the 148/722, i have heard that it is not the most user-friendly setup
I see.
I was specifically asking about the sound quality, the other stuff can work itself out.
I dont ever stealth, nor have plans to, so i should have as much time and space as i need to fiddle with stuff, generally speaking.
thanks for the heads up though bean!

no problem, itsa something weird about the setup, might be muddy anyway ;D
the 148 is a fixed gain 20db,m if it were a variable gain pre, there would be no gain prooblem
no problem Mike.

I've run 148>722 on several occasions and it couldn't be easier. no gain problems at all and they compliment each other very well. very nice with the mk41's, IMO

Boswell said no problems with audible artifacts running m148>722, I've heard the results firsthand, no noticeable steps.

im tryin to figger out which one to get so that I can fit the 722/brick/mgs in
as well as another jb3 for patching(so i can do a post matrix)
My bag is way to big, but it's the only option running the 500e.
