I have recently been attempting 24bit playback from my Audiophile 2496 card via the coax out into my home system... and now I'm told that the Audiophile 2496 card will not play true 24bit audio without the ASIO plugin.. see this thread..

I cannot get the card to play any type of output with the ASIO plugin.. I have tried Foobar and Winamp and neither one will work.. very frustrating, but there is very little about this topic anywhere on the web and zero support... so, I am in the market for a new soundcard with a coax in/out that will play TRUE 24bit playback with the ASIO driver. I have searched the threads and seen a bit of positive talk regarding the Ego Systems Juli@...

can someone confirm for me that this soundcard does NOT resample, dither, truncate, etc on playback by default... and that they have it working with the ASIO plugin on their computer???.. and if so, are you using Foobar or Winamp?
.. and if this card is not the answer I'm looking for, can anyone suggest one?

ASIO 2.0 is the de facto standard, and the Juli@ supports it with just a 3.0 ms latency..

Is getting a lot of fluff amongst audiophile/engineer types. It apparently doesnt resample.
I bought the esi juli@ at the suggestion of a engineer buddy, and will report as soon as i get my new box runnin'
