Windows 2000, Athlon 1700XP...
Bought a USB 2.0/Firewire combo card - installed using updated drivers.
Using Creative Media Source, can transfer PC > JB3 firewire, but not the other way.... I get errors midway thru the transfer that say "file is in use or corrupted." Will transfer fine using USB 1.1, but takes much longer, of course.
I've also tried dual booting into Win XP, with similar problems. I'm about ready to give up and accept that USB 1.1 is the only workable solution in my system.
Any practical ideas on how to solve this? Creative tech support is clueless.

go to the creative website,
go to support and go to the software auto detect area
make sure you leave the jb3 hooked up via usb and itll dl the drivers you need
sounds like a jb3 driver issue to me

The JB3 can be fussy on firewire. I've got a 3 port card, and 1 on the front of my pc. The JB3 will only work on 1 of the back 3 and the front. If your card has more than one firewire port try that, if not swap out the card.

When I had issues it was the firewire card itself. New card solved the problem.
