On Monday, I taped Les Claypool w/Skerik on sax at the Odeon in Cleveland. I'm pleased with my C4 recording. I've called the C4s bright in the past.. I still think that's generally true.. BUT.. in this case, with the sax, I like it ;)
There are two sources for this show up on etree. I have not seeded my c4 version (though my Duo opener is up there).. I believe that an unseeded Schoeps mk4 version exists. I just put some comps up (included as attachments) for anyone who is curious:
Les Claypool 7-18-05 The Odeon w/ Skerik on sax
Samples are:
Sample 1: Precipitation, 4:26-4:31
Sample 2: Thai Noodles, 2:36-2:48
All samples were normalized.

These mics were a couple feet closer to the corner of the board (and

I love the sound and I wish I would have used the J-disc for hbrsb DFCFOB but I don't think I well try it at the small bar I record in. The place is way to noisy and I don't think it well work clamped on the stage w/ hot buttered rums sound system.
Peace
