Title: Audiophile 2496
Post by: jibooer on July 30, 2005, 01:44:54 PM
Just a quick couple of questions for users or past-users of Audiophile 2496  -   wondering what pholks use to output the sound from the soundcard - does everbody use an amp and speakers, or will speakers plugged into it works as well?

i used the analog line outs for small computer speakers.  If you got the money get a DAC with a spdif input and send that to your playback setup whether it be powered monitors or an amp>passive monitors setup.  i never measured jitter or anything like that on mine but i thought it was a solid card.

Thanks Brian...I appreciate it...
I my home office, between the cd shelfs, DATS, my wine making kits, and my computer system I really don't have any room to put an amp and and more speakers...I thinks I'm going to go w/ the straight up plugging the speakers directly out of the card...have a pretty nice Yamaha home theatre system already, too much overkill I think. If I had 100' of coax then it would be a different story - i'd hook right into my amp/receiver!
