1: try this site for a short list: http://hometheater.about.com/cs/dvdlaserdisc/tp/aatpdvdasacda.htm
I can't say whether or not this list is right on target since i havent been following dvd-a or sacd really.
as for your second question...dunno. There's quite a few quality budget cd players out there. It all depends on your budget (same with dvd audio players i guess).

Charles has an Onkyo universal disc player which I think only ran him like $250. He loves it though...

1) the toshiba 4960 plays DVDA I just picked one up for 60$ and there are some do it yourself mods
if you are into that.
2) I use whatever multi disc there is with a digital out to run into my dac. I just consider it a transport.
Currently I have been using a technics and it's does ok. It never really mattered much before because I had
a computer hooked to the stereo and I could just play whatever .flac files I had on the drives.

This is what I'm getting in a few weeks hopefully:
http://www.nadelectronics.com/dvd_players/T534_framset.htm
The US version is called T534, in Europe it's T524 for some reason, but they're identical I think. MSRP is EUR 349 in Europe.

I actually just bought a pioneer elite dv-45a (my previous dvd player crapped out on me all the sudden) and I must say this is a nice unit...plays everything I throw at it and a significantly better picture than I was getting on the other unit! An auth pioneer dealer is also selling these on audiogon at significantly lower than the prices I could find anywhere else!
