Title: CCM-4vL cardioid for lateral pickup
Post by: ho on August 25, 2005, 04:22:41 PM
Can someone tell me any differences between the lateral pickup and regular cards?

the "v" caps have frequency response tailored for vocals - an emphasis in the HF's, slightly rolled off LF's.  basically the 4v's have a brighter presentation compared to the regular 4's.  check the response graphs, the difference should be obvious.

I generally am not a fan of the 4V. I think it is a bit too airy sounding (and bright) for my tastes. That being said, when I do like it, I really like it. There is a Phish show, 9/29/99 FOB that comes immediately to mind - it sounds really nice. But on the whole I am a mk4 fan.
