Title: M1 battery life
Post by: blu666z on August 26, 2005, 09:24:00 PM
Just got an M1 to replace my D7...I was not expecting the M1 to only take 2 batteries.  How is run time affected?  I'm using the PowerX 2200mah batteries.

I can't give you an exact time your M1 will record on your rechargeables but my own experience has been with Energizer 2500mAh batteries which will run my M1 for over fours of recording with room to spare. The M1 seems much more efficient on two batteries then my D7 ever was on four, plus the newer high capactiy rechargeables are excellant.

I'm using radio shack rechargeables in that same mAh range, and can get 4+ hours without worry.  Once the levels start dropping on the meter they will go pretty quick with the rechargeables (in my experience).  Haven't ever found the need for an external pack with 4 freshly charged AA's in my bag. (8 hours worth, guaranteed).

Yup, 4+ hours on my D100 w/ remote attatched using either powerx or energizer 2500's (which, btw, I think are the exact same battery just w/ different wrapping).
