OK, so I recorded Glen Phillips last night. 2 sets. First was ~45mins or so, had no problem saving as a .wav. Second set was ~71mins. It wouldn't let me save as a wav and had to use the w64 extension. That's not 2gb worth, why wouldn't it let me save?

If you are using a JB3 - the file sizes will be more than double at 24/96...
-
Sorry I didn't make myself clear. Running soundforge on a lappy, not JB3.

you hit the 2gb mark at slightly over 1 hr with 24/96. i'm sure somebody can give a more accurate timing, but that's at least where the R4 does a file split.
-
OH, I guess that's why then. I thought it was closer to 1.5 - 2 hours. Thanks.

.w64 is ok you will just have to go into soundforge and split the track up and then save it as .wav files. I'm not sure about the time where it hits the 2gb mark. Wavelab gives you an option to start a new track at the 2gb mark. Pretty sure soundforge doesn't have this option.

w/ the 722 1hr is where it splits when the setting is 2gb @ 24/96

Yeah, I've worked with the .w64 extension before. I just thought I had a little time before that happened. Thanks again everyone.
