Hi,
I am new to transfering DAT tape to a PC.
Here's the set up:
DA-P1 (digi coax out) > UA-5 (digi coax in) > USB out > PC WinXP Pro > Cool Edit Pro 2.0 (record)
I have recorded part of the tape with Cool Edit and saved the file as a .wav (106 MB) to my harddrive.
When I connected the UA-5 to my PC, windows found the drivers and made the UA-5 as it's sound card.
I then switched back to my PC's sound card to play the file back. No sound.
I'm guessing there is some switch, knob, or button on the Da-P1 or the UA-5 that is in the wrong position.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Does Cool Edit show a waveform when you recorded? Or is it just a flat line?

Thanks for replying but I figured this one a while ago.

So...what was the problem? How did you fix it?

The first time I transferred the tape, the UA-5's output levels were at zero.
I did it again with the levels up and it worked out fine.
