Can I not record from a da-20 mkII to a d-8?
The above message is what I see.

Welcome to SCMS land! The Tascam will ignore SCMS ID's, it will still send them! Use the d8 as a play deck....

well it seems the da-20 i just bought from someone, will remain nameless, it was used, my problem now, did not mention that they digital input was not functioning. Was worth a try.
-
i think there is a switch to choose the input, check that. just a last effort guess. shouldn't be to expensive to get that fixed.
-
There's a way to turn SCMS off on the DA-20... hold the execute button while powering on the unit, this will toggle the SCMS function and display "SCMS OFF"
-
Trey I've got a DA-20 and a DA-20mkII.. shoot me a line if you're having any problems and I'll show you the light :)

SCMS is even finding its way into some "professional" gear these days; it it pretty sickening.
In my opinion, anything with SCMS is not professional, but the manufacturers don't seem to agree with me...go figure. :P
