I was wondering what different people use to connect cables to there sla batteries I have been using simple alligator clips but they don't stay very tightly connected and slip off easily anyone have a more secure connection Idea? ???

Personally, I like to make a harness for the batt and solder the leads directly to the tabs and add a thermal resetable fuse in-line. Secure the wires with a cable tie mounting base (Home Depot carries them) which is an adhesive backed base that allows a cable tie to be threaded through it to further secureg the leads. Then I wrap the whole thing with our good friend duct tape.
Then terminate the harness with either a 4 pin XLR or a mini-Q XLR like the Oade's do on their batt packs. I prefer the mini-Q connector as it takes up way less space in the bag.

I use .250" Disconnect F connecters, they slip right on the battery tabs (they crimp to the wire). I then solder them to the tab so there's no chance of them coming loose, because it happened to me once at a Wilco show! :o

you could also use rc battery type tainoy connectors, but i'd personally use xlr's of some sort!
