Title: m148 > mytek stereo 192
Post by: scb on September 12, 2005, 02:58:34 AM
i ran thoma's 148 tonight with the mytek, and it's not hot enough.  i peaked at maybe 8db tonight with this combo(was right behind the board dead center at red rocks).

some people had asked about this combo, so that's all i know so far.  i'll listen tomorrow

I assume you were running your 4022s right?  in my experience so far the MGs are a fair amount hotter than the 4022s...

oh, I have no doubt whatsoever that it sounds fabulous. I know doug's said that to go above 20db fixed would compromise the sound, but I'm sure one of the techgeeks around here could do it. It wouldn't be ideal because you'd totally be at the mercy of spls, but I ran 483>dmic for a long time and never clipped one show, amazingly, it'd be basically the same deal.
