Currently, to check the source of shows I trade or download from the archive/dime/etc I use CoolEdit Pro. In order to do this, I decompress the FLAC file with Foobar2000 and then open the file in CEP. Is there a small application that can skip the middle step and let me inspect the frequency of a FLAC file without having to convert it to WAV first?

i'm not sure what you mean...do you want like a full spectrum frequency analyzation or just to compare waveforms or what?

It sounds like he wants an FFT of the waveform to make sure he didn't get a show with an mp3 generation. Doesn't some playback software have a spectrum analyzer built in or available as a plugin? Winamp seems like a prime candidate for this. Foobar might also have such a plugin.
