Title: Entry Level Integrated
Post by: pjl10 on September 15, 2005, 10:29:38 PM
I am in the market for an integrated amp to hook up to my dvd player, tv, computer and turnable.  Wondering if anybody could give me some advice on a integrated amp in the $400 range.  Sorround sound isn't completely necessary but I would like to eventually get a center channel, sub, and maybe some sorrounds.  I have 2 JBL floorstanding speakers at the moment.  Any help is appreciated.

The Harmann Kardon AV receivers might be nice in this price range, you can find em' everywhere too.

I've got a Cambridge Audio A500 in my home office system that I like alot.  I think the new one is the A540 and you should be able to find it for less than your budget target.

Good call !
Some of the newer Rotel stuff sounds better than decent, too.

be careful buying the 3000ES grey market...I bought mine thorugh the Oades, and had 2 bad units, of which Sony repaired the second..has worked great since then, but I dont think they will honor the warranty if you cant produce a receipt from an auth reseller.  They had problems with some of the digital chips and static as I understand it.

But if you can  find one from an auth reseller, jump on it...I love mine...

I really need to restrict myself to $400 or less.  I'm looking at these Harman Kardon units and I'm thinking about going with one of these... unless I can find a 3000es in my price range.  Anyone know where the best deal is on either the Sony or the HK units?
