I taped the Eagles last night. For the first part of the show, before the intermission, my levels are great. But in the process of shutting everything down and then powering back up for the second part of the show, I unwittingly reset the levels on my SBM-1. That damn knob is so easy to inadvertantly turn. :( This is not the first time this has happened -- I get my levels set where I want them and then accidentally change them at some point during the show.
Does anyone have any special tricks they use or suggestions that would help out? My SBM-1's knob turns far too easily. I need some way to prevent inadvertant changes to my levels.
As always, thanks for all your help and advice.

You could use a strip of gaffers tape. Simply peel it back to set levels, then re-apply to secure the knobs. Just fold the sticky-side end onto itself as a "handle" for easy removal.

Yes, Moke . . . . ;) "Josephine's Stupid-Ass Taping Lesson #" . . . . only God knows how many.
Let's just say I could write a book. ;D

QFT. I've got a FOB P&F show I recorded in LP mode because I bumped the SBM. Saw the light after that one.

another nod for gaff. will tape together almost anything except water or frozen water 8)

Plain Ol' Sellotape is the answer here.
Every switch that is unused is taped down. Level knob as well (rarely move it).

i use plain ole electrical tape.
I do too. If it's not gonna be used, tape it down, and if it's gonna be used, tape it with the end folded over like BriSka said. That SBM knob is slippery. The way Leegeddy has his stuff arranged is key, with the SBM knob somewhat protected by the device below it, but for stealth situations, there is nothing like tape! That's just another reason we're called tapers.. . I guess a lot of what we actually DO is gaffing. . . Hm. . .
Gaffer's tape is dank, costs a little more but doesn't leave goo on your stuff when you remove it.

Goo Gone. Should rid you of sticky residue..........not saying it's totally safe for electronics, but for stands, surfaces, etc, you're good.

When I recently ungaffed my 4022's, the gaff tape goo left behind was thick and tough to get off.
isopropyl alcohol will remove gaffers residue from mic cables (confirming moke's account of residue)

believe it or not I've found wd40 to be great for removing adhesive residue of all kinds. better than goo gone, isopropyl, goof off, anything really...
who da thunk it??
