Title: stealthing ...........
Post by: admkrk on September 24, 2005, 10:03:56 PM
............conversations

i find myself in need of captureing the bs of a gov. regulated offical and only have a couple days (monday) to do it in. <extreamly long story>

basicly,  i need to run a "wire" on myself.

i should have no problems recording w/ my d8. the problem is i don't have any mics that are small enough to get an audible sound w/ consealment. outside of useing headphones(which i dought would give an audible copy unless held in front of the bitches mouth).

does anyone think the headphone deal would work? or have a better suggestion?

*maybe this should have been in the open forum, but this is realy a serious request*

I actually just run a wire the other night at school. Anywho, if you want to just pick up a little mic for not a lot, radio shack has this little mic that costs $8. Its obviously not the greatest, but it gets the job done...it has for me. Its about the size of a quarter. Here it is: http://www.soundpix.com/images/mic1.gif (just a pic).

hmmmmm,

didn't think to look to rs for a solution. (not were i'd go for a mic)    but, something like that might be just the ticket for my purposes.

  +t   thanks

You should try a SOMBRERO. I find the best ones are the ones from Tacos Tacos Tacos Tacos when you become an employee there. I teach a makeout clinic on Tuesdays and Thursdays so I can pay for my new mics because I had my old ones and SOMEBODY STOLE THEM!!!!

I have a few of those RS mics; picked them up years ago just to fool around with because they were so cheap. The are back-electret condensers that run on a little battery (I do not remember which one - I have not pulled them out for years.) They are not great by any stretch but for a lowpro vocal pickup they could work quite well.
