Today I got a new computer and a problem presented itself when I transferred my Audiophile 2496 from my old computer to the new one. It installed properly, but now my new computer doesn't recognize the factory-installed soundcard (integrated AC '97 audio, something like that...) at all. When I uninstalled the AP 2496, the computer recognized the factory card again. I've always used the AP 2496 for transfers and then used the factory card for my speaker-outs.
If anyone knows what might be up, please let me know.
Thanks,
Trey
(Sorry everyone, I've also noticed I ask a lot of questions here...)

Not sure what's up, but...why not just use the AP2496 for everything?

don't worry about it trey, that's what the board is phor :)

Well the soundcard doesn't have an output (1/8" jack) that I could plug my computer speakers into. It worked fine on my old system, I just figured it should be possible to run the same setup I used to have.

Ok after doing a little research I think this might have to do with conflicting IRQ's.
Now I need to just figure out what those are and how to change (?) them.
And Schwill... +T for making me feel welcome (as always).

Silly tapirs: I solved it myself!
It turns out in the BIOS setup you can configure the on-board audio to AUTO, ENABLE, or DISABLE. Well mine was configured to AUTO, which I suppose means it is disabled if the computer detects any new audio hardware during boot-up. I switched it to ENABLE and it now works like a charm (!)
