I would even say necessary for my uses as I want the ua5 to be both a live pre/AtoD for my mics as well as a basement studio goofing around device into my computer.

Anyone know how to get a switch worked in to the mix?

Post by: rabhan on August 28, 2003, 04:30:50 PM: just did the mod! success! not easy tho. it makes rt angle xlrs seem like a dream tho. it took me about 20mins from start to finish to do the mod. now i got a d-mod that i only paid 249$ for!!! :wink2:

Nice! Did you hack the USB trace or remove the R8 resistor?

Post by: rabhan on August 28, 2003, 06:03:32 PM: i just hacked the trace bc i only have a soldering iron, if i had some hot air tools, then i would have removed the resistor. i usually dont do SMD work for recreation or for work. Thru-hole is a lot easier. not to mention, these ua5 mainboards are very very very small. they werent really designed to be repaired. if you have one go bad i will bet that edirol will just replace the whole board. these days it is more cost effective to just replace the boards than to pay a tech to troubleshoot them.
