Title: Cell Phone Interference??
Post by: Md2545 on October 21, 2005, 05:43:29 PM
I recently got a transfer back that my friend did for me. I was listening to it and there was a digi noise that sounded like cell phone interference in two spots. I say cell phone because the sound was exactly like the sound my speakers make in my car when my phone is going off. Anyone ever experience this, I want to know if this is the reason or if it's my D100 machine. I checked the actual tape and the noise was on there so I know its not a bad transfer. Thaks for any help.

I think if your cables are sheilded this will help if not totally eliminate the noise.  the electromagnetic energy will "ground itself out" in the sheild of your cables.

There is not alot of power being transmitted from the antenna of most cellular handsets, so keeping it a reasonable distance away from your gear will help.

Active cables might be more liable to create the noise since there is less of a resistive layer between the conductors and the sheild, if there is a sheild at all.  the greater the resistive distance between the conductor and the sheild, the more isolation from interference the signal will have.
