Title: Neumann USM 69 i (mt)
Post by: Charlies on October 27, 2005, 03:18:57 PM
Does anybody run this $6k stereo mic?

Really cool looking mic that Doc Fob (his new-to-him toy) let me run for Set 2 of SKB last Friday (hyper setting).

The unscientific "comparison" to the AKG ck63s (which I ran for Set 1) is interesting, so I am posting a link to the BT in the kickdown here.
Pretty sweet mic! Check it out...and discuss.

I'm looking forward to hearing that. Thanks for sharing.  I'd love to hear that thing run in m/s or even blumlein!!

i have only used the usm69 in the studio, but my, what a yummy mic - it yeilds a near perfect image in blumlein.  a dream for small live ensembles, string quartets, etc.  the similar akg c426b is also an outstanding mic.
