Anyone tried this? I assume the mics are ... not very good, but for bringing stuff into a venue (stealthing)...?

I hear they pull a fantastic image when used in a urinal setting. You can practically feel your wang in your hand, the sound is so realistic.
:D
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Don't know what's gotten into me tonight, aside from a coupla late-night beers.
Actually those audio clips sound much better than I expected, which isn't saying much, but still.
I can say this with authority -- that is one of those most wack and ill-conceived websites I've seen in a long time.
Favorite line, from the FAQ:
Q: I love my Sonopak, but why can't it be made to look cooler? I mean, "fannypacks" went out of style years ago!

It appears that the company that makes the SonoPak is Brewer Instruments, which also makes and sells the "Tensimount" brand shock mounts.
Those mounts are effective and inexpensive, and he provides good service. I spoke with the owner on the phone at some point many moons ago when ordering some tensimounts, and he was very nice and sent along an extra mount and replacement bands at no charge, for no reason. "Brewer Instruments" sounds like it may be a sizeable operation, but is in fact a very small time gig. I'd recommend dealing with them, if you are interested in the product. [/fluff ?]

Sonopak works great. My Uncle is the developer of sonopak which he made because he was fed-up with mics and recording setups that were too cumbersum and didn't sound that good. I use it all the time with a minidisc and it simply sounds awesome. Have you listened to the demos online? I would try it if I were you. If you hate it, just return it and I'll make sure you get a full refund for your trouble, but I know your going to love it as I do. email directly if you have any questions: adamj@sonopak.com - Adam

What are the measurements on that Tensimount? They look like they could be low profile? The way they fit into a mic clip is wierd though.

I like how one of the selling points is "no ugly stands or wires" as if people tape to "look cool" or to be fashionable.
Seriously.
If we were trying to be fashionable, people wouldn't wear Kangol hats to shows.
