Title: Azerus
Post by: discopanic1 on November 04, 2005, 01:52:05 PM
Anyone have a link as to where to download the bittorrent file named Azerus.  Thanks alot all who helped.  I've got up and running on the downloading, and I'll figure out the sharing part of it tomorrow since sleep is much needed.

Thanks,

Google "Azereus".

indeed -- azereus can be found at <azureus.sourceforge.net>

I STRONGLY recommend, however, that you try another client as azereus (specifically the java runtime environment it needs to run) takes away a LOT of system resources.

I used to be a strong azereus proponent, but at the advice of folks on this forum recently tried utorrent (<www.utorrent.com>) and have found this little app to offer many of the features of azereus but to minimally affect system resources (even on my old p2-400 box that I currently run it on)

I actually switched back from azereus back to the Official Client. Mostly as he had built alot of the other features that others had developed back into it. Plus t's just less clunky. Don't get me wrong as on my mac azereus had always done a really nice job. I just like the simplicity of the official BT client.

my undestanding is that azereus problems are pc-specific and are a result of problems with Java implementation within windoze.

I'm running Azureus under SUSE Linux.  No problems whatsoever.  It doesn't seem anywhere near as "clunky" as it did on my Windoze box...

Google Azureus and download it from their sourceforge page.

www.utorrent.com <-- best torrent client for windows in my opinion.  way more user friendly than azureus, and doesn't bog down your puter at all.
