Title: JB3 as MP3 Player Help
Post by: WolfmanDMB on November 14, 2005, 11:14:57 AM
When I use my JB3 as an MP3 player it tends to freeze and make a loud buzzing sound through the headphones after some time when I have it on and am listening to music. Any ideas on what could be causing this? It seems like it only happens when it's running on the battery and not A/C. Could it be the hard disk or firmware? If it's the firmware would I be able to fix it without having to reinstall all the music again? Thanks in advance for any help I can get!

I've never had that problem after umpteen hundred hours using mine as a player.

I'd rock over to nomadness.net and see if there's anything in the FAQ or forums about it.

You can update the firmware without sacrificing the content but more likely you'll have to do something more drastic.

Start by going into resue mode and running a Clean Up. This will not erase your data (sort of like running a Defrag.)

After that you may need to move into more drastic steps such as reformatting or reloading the OS. These will obviously wipe your content so Back IT Up!

Good Luck.
