Title: Hard drive enclosure
Post by: hzgone on November 15, 2005, 07:28:05 PM
I know a few of you out there are using these.  Which ones have you found that are better than the others.  Firewire or usb?  I would like to go with firewire if the price is right.  I would like something that i can stack on top of each other.

I really like the Venus DS3 for 3.5" drives that I got from Newegg. It's more expensive than most because it is both Firewire and USB2 compatible. (Oxford chipset for FW.) I also like the built-in fan underneath the drive and the "drawer"-type mechanism by which the case opens.

I bought a Speeze enclosure from newegg because it was cheap and had both firewire and usb.

power supply died after about 12 months.   May be an anomoly, maybe not.

I have 2 of these enclosures and will be picking up a 3rd.  Highly recommended.
