Does anyone know the ADC and/or preamp chipsets in the microtrack?
I'm really tempted (aren't we all!)
I'm thinking of running it with mic in. Could I expect something significantly better than a stock UA5, for example? And how about running line-in later on, eg., with a V2 or similar in front. Is the ADC up to the job? Finally, how is this thing in MP3 mode? Could I record say, 320Kbits MP3 on it to get long shows?
The only limitation I can see right now is the internal battery. I'm thinking of just powering it with an external "Walmart-type" DVD battery. Bigger, yes, but that should run it for a real long time.
Thanks,
Richard

Did anyone look into the usability of the limiter which is built into the ADC but as of yet unused on the MT?

Thanks for that info. Now, how about the preamp? I'm hoping it would be something good as well...

I wonder if this will be a future firware upgrade as the chip clearly has an ALC circuit?

Just email M-Audio support kindly. You might get a response.
First I was wondering if (within the capabilities of the ALC) the limiter is usable?
I.e.: workable settings are possible?
If OK, then M-Audio could implement a menu with settings to (de)activate the limiter...
