I recently picked up an MMA6000, are the knobs on anyone else's kind of off? They never line up with the markers on the preamp and they both kind of stop in the middle of the lines so it makes it hard to tell if I've got one channel set higher than the other. After thinking it over, it's near impossible to see their large line on the knob in low light, so I'll probably buy some bright colored dot stickers at office depot and make my own pointer line. Just wondered if anyone else ran into this problem, although if my recorder had stereo levels there'd be no issue.

While mine are not in the middle of two settings, I also don't have what looks like a precise match either. It also depends on the angle you look at it from, but usually it's pretty easy for me to tell where I've set it. So for me it's a minor annoyance. You could try the two settings at +37.5 dB and then the next notch at 0 dB, that should tell you real quick which side of the line you should mark to.

The funny thing is, when the dials are both at 0, I can tell how to line them up. But when you turn them so they are both at 20, you can't really tell what they're set at. Really odd.

I noticed the same thing. I also noticed that the dials have some play in them. On any setting, you could move the dial slightly and the play will take you to one or the other line, but not both. Whichever line it meets should be the amount of added gain. That was my experience anyway.

Mine looks fine to me. Was it like that when you got it out of the box or after a few weeks of use?

Mine also have some play on the dials, one more so than the other.
