Title: patching w/ R1 and MicroTrack
Post by: jibooer on November 26, 2005, 02:54:44 PM
Hey now pholks!

With all the hype and positive comments about the R-1 and Microtrack, I think I will finally take the plunge and retire the ol' D7! For the time being I plan on just patching. Does anyone have any comments, warnings or suggestions on how to do this properly and which unit would be more favourable?

Mine takes an SPDIF coax signal from my M1 just fine.  So in that sense the MT is an upgrade
from the D7 for patching.  I also keep a coax splitter handy to pass the signal along.  The MT
does not have and SPDIF output.

AFAIK, the R1 does not have a digi-input, so it's not suitable for digital patching.

you would definately want to use a splitter with the mt. cause its a digital dead end

If you bring an AES > coax adapter you coud take the AES out of a V3, since there will probably be an open one (V3 has 2 AES and 1 S/PDIF out). The MT takes an AES signal no problem. Then you're not splitting the signal.
