Title: AT853s at line level
Post by: bconnolly on December 13, 2005, 05:38:12 PM
If one were to run AT853 mics into the SPSB-6 battery box, could you then run that signal into a line-level input and expect to get decent results from the recording device?  Would the source have to be really loud in order to pick up the signal? I'm talking about something like an iRiver or an iAudio x5 (for casual recording uses).

Ok, I'll give it a try.  Was just wondering what the outcome might be.

Line in will work with high SPL rock shows, but you may need to go Mic In to get enough gain for acoustic or lower SPL shows.  I'm not sure of the capabilities in reagrds to this of the recording units you noted.
