Title: Rode mics?
Post by: Lexus507 on December 16, 2005, 12:46:35 AM
i had the rode nt5's reccomended to me and i wanted to get the consensus from everyone over here. I hadnt ever really heard of rode mics before this suggestion. So let me know what you think or if you have had any experience with them.

IMO, you can do better for equal $$.  Look at Studio Projects mics.

Like the c4's? If anyone has any suggestions for the 300-400 dollar price range i would greatly appreciate it. Actually if you particularly like something even cheaper reccomed that as well.

Is this for taping or for something else(ie micing an instrument for live sound)?

well it is for room micing at rehearsels as well as live recordings of my own bands gigs...as well as maybe a little taping of some local band live shows. But we will probably use whichever mics i get as drum overheads at some point.
