CyberLink PowerDVD is what I use.

If you just want to preview the *.vob files, I'd use Media Player Classic http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/
If you want to preview the dvd as if you had an actual disc in your drive, you'll need an application that can load the VIDEO_TS folder directly. For that I recommend VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ .

I recommend VLC http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ .
VLC can play just about every damn video format known to mankind - and it comes loaded with the codecs. Great little application.

the video_ts folder is an image of a dvd usually. dvd players on computers like powerdvd and windvd will play the individual .vob files inside but they also have an option when you select the source for playing "dvd files on harddrive" or something similar. if you select this option, the player will play the files like a cohesive authored dvd disc with menus and all that instead of just the video footage.
