hi!
since musiciansgear (or anyone else) isnt longer able to deliver at853rx's i kinda stuck in a moment i cant get out of here :) ?
i am willing to spend round about 1000$ on some decent cards (miccables included if possible) for stealth taping!
these cards should be able to connect them to my sonosax m2 (not lemosax).
ran dpa4061s beforehand but since i mainly tape loud rock shows they simply sound too "boomy" for me!.
so cards is the way to go!
anyone got a good hint?. loved to have the at853rx's and connect them to my phantompowerunit but that option isnt longer availble for me :( :'( !
any help would be great!!!!
thanx so much

One option you could look at is purchasing some CMC4s from Soundprofessionals plus the phantom power kit:

I believe he's looking for cardiods..anyone still use DSMs? I don't think I've ever heard a recording using them..
DSM Microphones utilize a unique & proprietary modification formula of selected OEM available back-electret omni condenser pickup elements

dang... forgot he was looking for cardiroids. I'll have to post a sample of my DSM recordings. they are good you could say.

hi humbug!
thanx for your help!
is the soundcharacteristic of the at853 similar to the at853rx's ?. so the main difference is that the at853rx can directly be connected with a phantompowerunit without the use of an extra phantompower adapter?
any other ideas?.
thanx again

Suggest you read this thread:

To summarise, the Sound Professional CMC4s will overload in high SPLs (ie the rock gigs you are taping). Phantom powering this avoids overloading.
any other ideas?.
thanx again

Yes, there is a third option, a three-wire battery box. I use a similar mic (ES943 body and AT853 caps), and the three-wire battery box raises SPLs and avoids overloading in much the same way as phantom powering them, in a much smaller package which is perfect for stealth. Thats about the limit of my understanding, though a read of the above thread and:

will explain more.
Unfortunately nobody is commercially producing the three wire bb, though several people on this board have had a go..I've only had mine a couple of weeks, results are excellent.

thanx for that info humbug :) !
as i cannot run schoeps capsules which i'd really love to (got a sonosax m2 not a lemosax!) which cards in this price range (~ 500$ a pair) work with my sonosax and are "stealthable" :) ?.
