Title: C4s at One World (Austin)
Post by: Wiggle on January 09, 2006, 09:08:42 PM
Unless I can get my arse to Lula Lounge this Thursday looks like the maiden voyage of my C4s will be in Texas.

From what I can tell it's a relatively small room: http://www.oneworldtheatre.org/tickets.html (click the Music chart) and I have no idea where my seats are.

I've got four shows over two nights to experiment but I also know about 50 gajillion ways to f things up. So, while I have every intention of getting in at soundcheck to wander around and listen to the room, I'm wondering if anyone here has taped in that room and what, if any advice, tips, tricks, suggestions they might have.

good luck, talk to wayne about the Coyboy junkies shows.

I think it goes 1 taper w/ previous permission and a special seat assigned.

LMK if you want to try something out in austin before then

That place is really nice but they're also pretty uppity.  I highly doubt they'll let you just hoist up a rig from your seat, if that's what you're planning.  I know they made Wayne tape from the switchback of the stairs leading up to the balcony for Cowboy Junkies last time & as Fozzy said, he needed special permission for that.  As a matter of fact, this place is one reason why I put together a stealth rig.

Thanks for all the info. Especially the confirmation that they're uppity. I had heard that from a couple of people but, hearing it from a taper... that pretty much confirms it.

I'm not happy with my stealth rig but in a pinch it might have to do.

Last question (for now), if stands are verboten... is there any place to clamp?
