Title: V3 Soundboard... Levels question
Post by: it-goes-to-eleven on January 14, 2006, 02:52:33 PM
A taper buddy wants me to cover a soundboard tonight for Peter Mulvey (solo acoustic guitar).  I'd like to 'set it and forget it' so I can focus on running my mics.

Since the MT isn't very board patch friendly (always have to work out odd levels with the sound guy), I'm thinking of running board RCA's > V3 > MT.  But since I haven't run a board patch into the V3, I was wondering if I should plan on doing anything other than running min gain (10dB) and if I should expect any surprises. Would this be too hot?

Thanks guys!

I ended up not running my mics. I wanted to get a good board and didn't want to bug people while moving from the sbd area to my seat, etc..  The sweet spot was covered..

I ended up going unbal > 722. Optimal gain was about 18-19dB.  So 10+ on the V3 should have been fine.

I would need to know that he is okay with boards being circulated.
