Title: Where to buy a solid state recorder?
Post by: George on January 18, 2006, 09:06:29 PM
Hey all,

I plan on upgrading all my gear next month and I was wondering which vendors (online or B&M) have a decent selection of solid state recorders.  I'm very interested in going into 24 bit recording  8)

I just ordered a stock R1 from oade's  They seemed to be inline with everyone else price wise (I didn't shop around much, though) and I can get it modded later if I feel its neccessary.

what recorder(s) are you looking at.  I was debating between a R1 or maybe a microtrack  I went with the R1 mainly because Guitar Center didn't have one in stock, and I needed it by this weekend to get moe. and Derek Trucks/Grace Potter.

Something small for stealthing, 24/48 is good for me.  I've kinda been thinking about the MT but some of the issues people have been having scare me.  I want something that runs stable naturally.  I wont be using a spdif connection, just going line in and i'm considering a pair of dpa's.  Just looking for the ultimate stealthing rig.

martin, I'll look into Cascade as well.  Keep the rec's coming guys!   8)
